Guide
Casino Payment Methods and CAD Costs
Paying into a Canadian casino costs money in up to three places: the casino’s own fees, your bank’s or card issuer’s fees, and currency conversion if the account is not in Canadian dollars. Most of the regulated casinos we checked charge nothing for Interac deposits, and Ontario’s rules require player balances in Canadian dollars and every account fee to be disclosed before a deposit or withdrawal. The limits on an Interac deposit come from two sides: Interac says each financial institution sets its own e-Transfer limit, and the casino sets its own minimum and maximum, from C$5 at PlayNow.com to C$10,000 at bet365 and Casino Days in Ontario. And the method you deposit with is not always one you can withdraw to. We read the operators’ payment pages on October 19 and 20, 2026.

What this section covers, and why
Payment pages answer the question “can I deposit?” well and the questions that cost money badly: who charges what, which limits are the bank’s and which are the casino’s, and what happens when you want the money back. This section takes each of those separately, from the casino’s own payment pages, the regulators’ standards and Interac’s published rules.
Who sets the limits?
Two parties do, and the lower limit wins. Interac says there are limits on the amount you can send by Interac e-Transfer, that each financial institution sets its own, and that the service works at over 250 participating institutions. The casino then sets its own range. bet365 (Ontario) takes Interac deposits from C$10 to C$10,000 with no bet365 fee; Casino Days (Ontario) from C$20 to C$10,000; PlayNow.com in BC from C$5. If your bank’s daily e-Transfer limit is lower than the casino’s maximum, the bank’s limit is the one you will hit.
One more Interac rule matters: once a casino has accepted an e-Transfer deposit, it cannot be reversed. You can cancel only before it is accepted, in your online banking, and your institution may charge a cancellation fee.
Where do fees come from?
- The casino. Ontario’s AGCO standards 5.76 to 5.78 require player balances to be shown in Canadian dollars, all account fees to be disclosed before a deposit or withdrawal, and deposit and withdrawal rules to be stated clearly. Most Ontario operators we read state no fee on Interac; some charge on particular withdrawals, such as unplayed deposits or direct bank transfers.
- Your bank or card issuer. iGaming Ontario says each financial institution has its own rules and fees for igaming transactions. PlayNow.com says BCLC charges no deposit fees but some card issuers and banks may.
- Conversion. On a CAD account there is none. On a site that accepts CAD but keeps its books in another currency, conversion can add a cost the casino does not show as a fee.
Which methods can you use, and which are ruled out?
Interac, debit and credit cards, bank transfers and e-wallets such as PayPal, Skrill or MuchBetter appear across the payment pages we read. Cryptocurrency is ruled out on regulated sites in two provinces: AGCO standard 5.69 says deposits must be authorized by a financial services provider and that cryptocurrency shall not be accepted, and the Alberta iGaming Corporation says approved Alberta operators may not accept cryptocurrency.
Why might a deposit method not pay out?
Because deposit and withdrawal lists are separate. 888casino (Ontario) lists Visa, Apple Pay, Interac and MuchBetter as deposit methods that can also receive withdrawals, and Mastercard and Paysafecard as deposit methods that cannot. Luxury Casino and Yukon Gold in Ontario list Interac under deposits only. That is ordinary; what should prompt a question is a withdrawal page with no method at all, or a request to deposit again before you can withdraw. Never make a new deposit to release a withdrawal.

How we checked
We read the payment, banking and help pages of each operator, the AGCO’s Registrar’s Standards for Internet Gaming, iGaming Ontario’s player FAQs, the Alberta iGaming Corporation’s player FAQs and Interac’s personal FAQ on October 19 and 20, 2026, Ontario operators from an Ontario connection. All limits and fees are as stated by the operator; we did not make deposits.
What we could not confirm
- Your own bank’s Interac e-Transfer limit and fees: each institution sets them.
- Per-method limits at casinos whose cashier opens only after login.
Check the costs before your first deposit
Open the casino’s payment page and write down four things for the method you plan to use: the minimum and maximum, any casino fee, the stated time, and whether the same method appears on the withdrawal list. Then check your bank’s e-Transfer limit. For how long withdrawals take once you have played, see our comparison of the fastest casino withdrawals in Canada.
