Why a Casino Deposit Method May Not Be Available for Withdrawals

It is normal, and on its own it is not a warning sign: many Canadian casinos accept Interac for deposits but pay withdrawals another way. Luxury Casino and Yukon Gold in Ontario list Interac under deposits only and pay out by Visa OCT, CAD EFT or Skrill; PlayNow.com and Loto-Québec take Interac deposits and pay withdrawals to your bank account; OLG.ca pays every withdrawal by EFT. What should prompt a question is a withdrawal page that offers no method at all, or a request to deposit again before you can withdraw. We read these operators’ payment pages on October 19 and 20, 2026.

Why would Interac work for deposits but not withdrawals?

Four reasons cover almost every case we found.

1. The casino does not pay out by Interac. Some operators simply do not offer Interac as a withdrawal method:

  • Luxury Casino and Yukon Gold (Ontario): Interac appears only under deposits, processed by PayDirect Billing Solutions. Withdrawals for Canada go by Visa OCT, CAD EFT or eCheck, and Skrill.
  • PlayNow.com (British Columbia): all withdrawals go to the player’s bank account by electronic funds transfer.
  • Loto-Québec (lotoquebec.com): withdrawals go to a chequing or savings account you register, and the name must match your account.
  • OLG.ca: withdrawals go by EFT only, to your own verified bank account. OLG says it uses EFT to meet regulatory requirements.

Other operators do the opposite. bet365 (Ontario) says money deposited by Interac goes back by Interac bank transfer, with a process time of 1 to 4 hours, and Casino Days and Jackpot City (Ontario) list Interac for both directions. The difference is the operator’s choice, not a problem with your account.

2. The method cannot receive money. Some deposit methods are one-way. 888casino (Ontario) says Mastercard cards and Paysafecard can be used to deposit but cannot receive withdrawals. Jackpot City and Spin Casino (Ontario) list Mastercard, American Express and Apple Pay for deposits only, and eCheck for withdrawals only.

3. The casino pays back to your deposit method first. Several operators return money the way it came in before they open other options:

  • 888casino (Ontario) pays withdrawals first to the methods you deposited with, up to the amounts deposited, and the rest by Visa, Interac (if you used it before) or wire transfer.
  • Casino Days (Ontario) pays first to the deposit methods, first in, first out.
  • BetMGM (Ontario) may pay back to your deposit method or methods before enabling other withdrawal options.
  • Betty (Ontario) pays to the deposit method where possible and may decline a withdrawal within 14 days of a card deposit.
  • NorthSpin and WishKing pay withdrawals only to the deposit account or by the deposit method.

So if you deposited once by card and once by Interac, the first withdrawal may go to the card, and Interac may appear only for the rest.

4. Verification is not finished. Casino Days (Ontario) says withdrawals require completed identity and anti-money-laundering checks, and 888casino (Ontario) requires a photo ID for the first withdrawal. Until that step is done, a request may not move, whichever method you choose.

Is the rule about your own account normal too?

Yes. In Ontario, the AGCO’s standards allow withdrawals only after the operator has verified that the account holder made the request, and only to an account the player legally holds. Operators state versions of the same rule in their terms, for example that the name on the casino account must match the payment account. A withdrawal to a friend’s account or a different name will be refused.

What should you not do?

Do not deposit again to release a withdrawal method. None of the terms we read for this page makes a new deposit a condition for a withdrawal, and a second deposit can make things slower: under pay-back-to-source rules it adds another amount that has to go back to its own method first. If support suggests a deposit to release a withdrawal, ask for the rule in writing and the section of the terms it comes from.

What should you do instead?

  1. Read the withdrawal page. Find the list of methods that can receive money, with minimums. Luxury Casino, for example, sets C$300 for bank wire and C$50 for other methods.
  2. Ask support which method your request will use, and why if Interac is missing.
  3. Add a method that can receive payouts if you have none, such as a bank account for EFT, in your own name.
  4. Keep records of the request date, amount and any message from the casino.
  5. Escalate only after the operator. In Ontario, iGaming Ontario says to work with the operator first and get a complaint number; it can then take escalated disputes about regulated sites.

Which casinos do pay out by Interac is listed in our Interac withdrawal matrix. How deposits by Interac work, including bank limits, is covered in our guide to Interac casino deposits.

What we could not confirm

  • Withdrawal methods at JeetCity, Spinrise and Boho Casino: their cashiers open after login or sign-up.
  • Whether BetRivers (Ontario) pays out by Interac: its terms do not list withdrawal methods.

Check before you deposit next time

Before choosing a deposit method, open the casino’s payment page and find it in both the deposit and the withdrawal lists. If it appears only in the first, choose a method that appears in both, or add a bank account for withdrawals before you play. Our guide to reading each withdrawal status explains what happens after you submit a request.
