Casino Payout Check

Responsible gambling

Money you deposit at a casino should be money you can afford to lose, and a withdrawal should never become a reason to deposit more. This page gathers the official help available to players in Canada, checked on October 19, 2026.

Minimum ages

Ontario sets 19 for online casino play and casinos, and 18 for lottery (iGaming Ontario; OLG). Alberta sets 18 for regulated online play (Alberta iGaming Corporation). Loto-Québec’s online pages show 18+. British Columbia sets 19 for all gambling (Government of BC), and Saskatchewan 19 for PlayNow.com (Government of Saskatchewan). Manitoba requires the age of majority (Manitoba Liquor & Lotteries). We found no official page stating the age in the Atlantic provinces or the territories.

Self-exclusion

  • Ontario: BetGuard, free, opts you out of all regulated online gambling sites and apps in Ontario, including OLG and ProLine+, for 6 months to 5 years. You need to be 19 or older with government photo ID. The term can be extended but not shortened, and once you enrol, operators must cancel outstanding wagers and return unused funds. Operators also run their own programs, and OLG’s My PlayBreak covers its casinos, charitable gaming centres and OLG.ca.
  • Alberta: centralized self-exclusion for online sites, land-based casinos or both; AGLC’s Self-Exclusion Program, 1-844-468-8034, se@aglc.ca.
  • British Columbia: Game Break, BCLC’s program, through PlayNow’s Customer Support Center at 1-866-815-0222.
  • Quebec: “Break and self-exclusion” and “Set my limits” in your lotoquebec.com account.

Deposit limits and the money side

In Ontario, iGaming Ontario says regulated operators must offer spend-limit and time-limit tools, a short break and longer self-exclusion; in Alberta, registered operators must offer financial and time limits from registration. Set a deposit limit before your first deposit and keep it below what you can afford to lose. Your bank also sets its own Interac e-Transfer limit, and once a casino accepts an e-Transfer deposit it cannot be reversed, according to Interac, so a lower bank limit is another brake you control.

Pending withdrawals and second thoughts

Several Ontario operators let you reverse a withdrawal while it is still pending, which puts the money back in your balance; Luxury Casino, Yukon Gold, Amazon Slots and BetMGM all describe this. If that option is a temptation, a lower deposit limit or a short break is the tool to reach for, and both are available at regulated operators in Ontario and Alberta.

What we never suggest

We never suggest depositing again to release a withdrawal, and we never explain how to get around identity checks, location checks or self-exclusion. If a casino, an email or a chat agent asks you for a new deposit before paying you, stop and talk to your province’s help line. If you simply want to talk about your gambling, those lines are free and confidential.
